Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat
The 4 C’s represent the four main components of a Diamond: Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat.
The 4 C’s are graded on a scale, which help determine the value of a Diamond, and the associated cost.
The quality of a cut will determine the level of brilliance, fire and scintillation.
The Colour evaluation is determined by the abscence of colour in the Diamond. The less Colour, the higher the grade.
The Clarity of a Diamond refers to the number of natural characteristics that have been created during the formation of the Diamond. While all Diamonds have these characteristics, the less there are, the higher the associated value.
The Diamond Carat weight is a measurement of how much a Diamond weighs. It is also good to note that even amongst the same carat size, there can be small variances in size which is why it is important to have a good Diamond buyer to choose the Ideal Diamond size for maximum bang for buck.
